Comparison

DecisionOS vs Perplexity

Perplexity is excellent at citation-backed research: ask a question, get a synthesised answer with sources. DecisionOS is the next step: the structured workflow that takes that research, weights it against criteria, aligns stakeholders and produces the decision memo itself. Research and decision are different artefacts.

TL;DR

Perplexity answers questions. DecisionOS records decisions.

Choose DecisionOS when

  • You have enough research and need to structure the actual decision.
  • Stakeholders need per-role briefs tied to one source.
  • The decision needs an audit trail.

Stick with Perplexity when

  • ·You are still in research and want cited answers fast.
  • ·You need quick market snapshots, analyst summaries or news.
  • ·The output is a read, not a sign-off.

How DecisionOS is different

Perplexity and DecisionOS sit at different stages. Perplexity is upstream (research). DecisionOS is downstream (decision of record). Teams commonly paste Perplexity citations into DecisionOS evidence fields, with the memo then functioning as the single artefact that stakeholders sign.

Questions we get about this

Can I use Perplexity research inside DecisionOS?

Yes. Evidence fields in DecisionOS accept citations and links, and the Research Honesty layer explicitly marks which claims are user-sourced versus AI-inferred.

Entirely in the EU (Hetzner, Nuremberg, Germany). No application data leaves the European Union. Analytics is self-hosted and cookie-free. A data processing agreement per Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.

How do I evaluate DecisionOS for my next decision?

Book a 30-minute demo at nexalign.io/book. During the demo the team walks a real decision end-to-end using a scenario close to yours (EDR, IAM, sovereign cloud, ERP, whichever fits).
